After Dark Session Volume 3.

A night skiing experience at Porters. Custom built park setup, Ice Bar, DJ, BBQ.  The platter lift will run 6pm to 8.30pm.

Date TBC - hopefully the second weekend of the July school holidays.

McNultys Supercross

The course includes rollers, jumps, berms and other snow features designed for fun, fast, action packed racing! Four racers per heat, knockout system, the fastest 2 racers to the bottom of the course from each heat progress to the next round, until it's time for the big final!The race will feature a junior (U18) category as well as open, ski and snowboard.

Saturday 28th July.


A true Porters tradition! Head up for some fun in the spring sunshine and enjoy some gourmet German food and beer. From 12noon at the cafe.

Retro Day     

Dig out your retro gear and clothing. Spot prizes for the best dressed!

Cheeseman Undie 500     

Strip down to your unmentionables and race down the mountain or just go along and watch. Held in spring for obvious reasons!

Saturday 8th September.

Pirate Day!!

To walk the plank ‘n hunt for long lost treasure, dress like a Pirate ‘n chart ye course for Mt Cheeseman. Loads of free fun ‘n games ‘n prizes for Pirates ‘n Wenches of all ages. Nippers under 10yrs ski free. See ye there—if ye dare…Arrr!

A specialised freeheeling week with telemark instruction.

August 5th.
Speed Riding Camp

Give your skiing another dimension and learn to fly or improve your flying under the guidance of professionals. Broken River provides a snow secure and diverse training ground for an adventure of a lifetime. This camp is for beginners and intermediate flyers. You'll need a moderate level of fitness and skiing ability & be prepared to have fun!

Rider X 

Pit your skills against our other competitors. It's  always a blast, with plenty of thrills for participants and spectators.

September 1st.

BR BBQ & Bake-Off + Home Brew Competition

Local BBQ chefs and home brewers will battle it out to see who can produce the finest culinary BBQ delight and/or best brew.

September 22nd.




Craigieburn run events throughout the season such as Club Champs, beer and wine tastings and the Junior Big Mountain.




The New Zealand Snow Safety Institute (NZSSI) run professional courses at Temple Basin for those wishing to up-skill in mountaineering, back-country skiing and riding, or general alpine and rope-work skills.  Examples of the courses on offer include:

Avalanche Awareness
Intro to Ski Touring
Mountaineering Skills

SplitFest is a week long event for splitboarders .

September 3rd - 9th with a party on September 8th.

Also at Temple Basin each season are a variety of events offered in association with the Canterbury University Snow Sports Club (CUSSC) as well as live music, yoga weekends and a lot more!

Ski Weeks!
A Ski Week is the quintessential Mt Olympus experience. Ski Weeks start on a Sunday and finish the following Saturday and include 7 days skiing and 6 nights' fully catered accommodation.​ Here's a taste of what is typically on offer:
